DiCE / Mongoose is needed to make CEM configuration change with VDASH or P3tool Etc. They are not reuired for data logging or ECU flashing . You can rent or buy DiCE / Mongooser with ModUnlock on the sales page.

No, once decoding or flashing starts the car will be in a low power state and literally nothing will function until you cancel the decode or finish the flash.

We always reccomend battery support whilst performing any operaiton , expecialy ECU reading / writing.

For CEM pin decoding, Typically it's not required, P1 and P2 platform take just a few minutes.

P3 platform of course can take UPTO 4.5 Hours with high spec CEM , UPTO 6.5 hours with mid spec cem or up to 12 with low spec CEM

A strong healthy battery should cope with any of those situations.

However, it’s your choice and there is no downside to using a battery charger .

If you are not sure about your battery health (particularly for longer P3 decodes) , use a charger or if that’s not possible you can do a few hours here and there by using the the resume function for P3 decodes.

Most modern phones recognise a QR code automatically when the cameras sees one. Some older phones may need a additional app from your app store. Once scanned your phone will ask if you want to load the weblink. The link will take you to our site and display your VIN and CEM pincode. You can copy the URL to use at later date.

Mod Unlock remembers the last 10 VINs and pins it has already processed , plug it back into the ODB2 port and it will immediately show the last decoded PIN. If you need a previous PIN use the menus to navigate to View Vins , then select a Vin to show the PIN.

Make sure the Device is firmly seated in the OBD2 port via its extension cable and that you car battery is fully charged. ModUnlock has no internal power and depends on your car battery to operate. In the unfortunate event of a defective device, get in touch here and will will send out a replacement.

Your hardware Deposit entitles you to 7 calendar days (14 for ModUnlock Flash) with the device (that is 7/14 calendar days from when the tracking says it was delivered). After the 7/14 days is up you must return ModUnlock. Failure to return in a timely manner (i.e. within 7/14 days from when the rental period expiration) may void any Deposits. We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of playing with cars, We are happy to extend any rental period, just let us know you need more time.
