Founded in 2022, ModUnlock was created in the UK by Volvo enthusiasts, for Volvo enthusiasts.

Between us, we currently own six Volvos, with a combined lifetime ownership spanning over three decades and owning over 30 Volvos, we live Volvo.  We've worked on them, tuned them and modified them...

Our children know only Volvo.

When we say we know Volvo, we mean it.  

ModUnlock began with a simple goal: to remove unnecessary complexity and make advanced Volvo modification and tuning accessible, reliable, and easy to use.

The ModUnlock Classic CEM Decoder was born out of our frustration with how difficult CEM decoding had become for the average enthusiast. We wanted a solution that was fast, dependable, and usable by anyone — even with no prior experience.

Later, ModUnlock Flash followed for a similar reason. While ECU flashing services existed, meaningful and usable data logging was often missing. For us, tuning without proper data simply wasn’t good enough. So once again, we built the tool we needed ourselves — combining simple flashing with clear, practical data logging to support real-world tuning.

As ModUnlock grows, we’re committed to expanding functionality wherever it serves a  genuine need. Our roadmap includes straightforward CEM and ECM cloning solutions for the most commonly failing modules, helping to keep more Volvos on the road without unnecessary expense or complication.
